Sylvia grew up on a farm in Wisconsin. In 1986 she graduated from UW EauClaire with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She moved to South Carolina where she attended Columbia Bible Seminary and worked as a nurse on a neurosurgical floor. There she also met her husband Don who was completing his residency in Family Practice and had a similar call to the mission field.

After her husband’s 4-year commitment to the USAF in Oklahoma, they served with a church-planting team in Central Asia for 8 years. During their time overseas, Sylvia became very sick with symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. After failing to find answers through the traditional medical model they had both been trained in, they found answers in places they didn’t expect--the alternative health care world.  Thus began their paradigm shift toward natural healing. Currently, she has "graduated" from homeschooling their 4  grown children. Sylvia’s heart is to help help people reach their optimum health goals.
